Platform for pre-assembling offshore wind turbines for the Fecamp wind farm

Brief overview

Ports of Normandy has just completed, on behalf of Eoliennes Offshore des Hautes Falaises (EOHF), the development of 15 ha of hardstanding in the Port of Cherbourg. It will accommodate the hub for storing and pre-assembling the components of the wind turbines for the future wind farm off Fécamp.

Part of this hardstanding is occupied by road structures and a system for draining rainwater. Ports of Normandy has built the connecting roads and all the various networks (high voltage AC supply, drinking water supply, waste water drainage, communications...) and upgraded (reinforced and reconfigured) the existing structures so that they satisfy the specific technical demands of the future user.

A platform able to withstand 50 tonnes per m² was built adjacent to the quay.
